The Art & Art History class at The Village aims to foster an early love for art in your little one. Ms. Genevieve will expose students to some of history's most famous artists while encouraging unbridled creativity and individuality.
Classes will take place in our learning studio on Tuesdays at 12:30PM-1:30PM
09/14, 09/21 & 09/27

Class 1: Van Gogh
In this class Ms. Genevieve will read Camille and the Sunflowers: A Story About Vincent van Gogh by Laurence Anholt. Students will learn about one of history's most famous and recognizable artists. We will focus on his idyllic paintings of nature and create art pieces inspired by his famous sunflower work.

Class 2: Kahlo
Ms. Genevieve will read Frida Kahlo and her Animalitos by Monica Brown and emphasize the importance of women artists throughout history. Students will learn about Kahlo's biggest influences including her hometown of Mexico City and her beloved animals as they create colorful artworks.

Class 3: Picasso
Students will follow along as Ms. Genevieve reads Picasso's Trouser's by Nicholas Allen. Students will be encouraged to "break the rules" just as Picasso did, and emulate his bold use of color through collage.
Ms. Genevieve holds a degree in Visual Art from Ramapo College of New Jersey and plans to study Arts Education at the graduate level.
